
Founded in 2026, the Iberian Western Horse Association is a Texas 501c5 and a Federal 501(c) non-profit focused on and dedicated to preserving the original western ranch horse, holding true to the breeds original values, while keeping an eye on the future looking too continue improving the breeds western heritage.
The Iberian horse was, and remains, the ultimate working, herding, and bullfighting horse in Spain and Portugal. They were used for managing cattle using a pole(la garrocha), a precursor to the cowboy traditions of the American West.
